Post-doctoral - ( 190001KG ) Post-doctoral researchposition in Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes andNutrition, University of Maryland, Baltimore A full-timePost-Doctoral research position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Zhe"Zion" Han in the Department of Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetesand Nutrition at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore asof November 1, 2019 (until filled). The Han lab uses Drosophila andhuman cell lines to study genetic diseases affecting heart, kidney, blood,muscles, metabolism and aging. We combine genetics, epigenetics, biochemistry,cell biology, developmental biology, and bioinformatics to study the molecularmechanism of disease, identify / validate disease causing genetic variants, andtest potential therapeutic drugs based on the disease mechanism. We are seeking highly motivatedresearchers with a PhD degree in related area, with an interest in developinganimal models for human diseases and potential therapeutically treatment. Candidates should have at least 2 years of biomedicalresearch experience, be able to work independently, have critical thinkingabilities, and good written and oral English communication skills. Previousexperience with Drosophila genetics or bioinformatics are preferred but notrequired.
