Review more information at BNL | Benefits Program Police Group Training Specialist The Laboratory Protection Division at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is seeking to hire a Police Group Training Specialist to assist the training department with administration of the training and qualification program for Protective Force personnel . Under general supervision, performs key activities for one or more major administrative functions within Lab Protection Division. Responsibilities: Assist the Police Group Training Department with ensuring compliance to related DOE Orders and guidance. Assist the training department with maintaining accurate organizational training program data, for input to policies and procedures, and for communicating initiatives back to the organization. Monitor training and qualification program requirements for the Protective Force personnel. Assist in the assessment and documentation of job, system, and department-specific training and qualification needs. Assist with coordination for annual reviews of organizational job training assessments (JTAs). Document and maintain training and qualification requirements for Protective Force personnel. Validate and maintain data in the Brookhaven Training Management System (BTMS). Assist the Training Department staff to act as liaison with other organizations for training initiatives and activities (e.g., Human Resources, Occupational Medicine Clinic, Guest/User/Visitor Center). Assist in providing department-specific onboarding for new hires. Report organizational training qualification status to management. Support procurement, maintenance, and accountability activities. Prepare travel arrangements for Protective Force members attending official work-related travel. Prepare reimbursements for the Protective Force activities. Assist with editing documents prepared by the Training Department and Police Chief. Assist in organizational implementation of the Laboratory training requirements. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Bachelor's degree in business or closely related field or equivalent experience (2:1 experience: college) years 4 years related work experience administration of training programs. U.S. citizenship is required and the ability to obtain a DOE "Q" clearance. Ability to operate independently. Ability to communicate concisely and effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management, employees, guests, and representatives of regulatory agencies is required. Ability to prepare professional reports and develop program materials and plans. Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, database and spreadsheet management, Microsoft Office products, and web-based business systems is necessary. Preferred Master's degree is preferred. Familiarity with DOE 473. 2A (training requirements for Protective Force Personnel). Knowledge of SharePoint. Environmental, Health, and Safety Requirements: Candidate will be required to at times: Work protracted and/or irregular hours. Perform computer/keyboard work. Work with or near moving machinery at times. Work outdoors at times. Ability to wear and use personal protective equipment. Ability to lift up to forty pounds. Brookhaven Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $65,650- 95,200 a year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
