Job Overview
The International Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, including tariff classifications, free trade agreement analysis, and export control compliance. This role collaborates with internal departments such as Supply Chain, Engineering, and Legal to align with international trade policies and maintain accurate, compliant records. The analyst will also serve as a liaison with external vendors and government agencies, overseeing documentation and process improvements to support regulatory adherence.
Key Job Responsibilities
Advise on tariff (HTS) and export control (ECCN) classification processes, working with Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure accurate part classifications.
Interpret and apply international trade requirements and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), issuing certifications for qualifying goods to reduce import duties.
Guide Supply Chain teams on compliance documentation, including country of origin and NAFTA certificates, collaborating with suppliers to drive accuracy.
Develop and maintain import/export processes, conducting audits, and providing training to ensure consistent compliance across the organization.
Manage export compliance records and global databases, maintaining data integrity for HTS codes, ECCNs, and origin information.
Support cross-functional teams (e.g., Credit, Customer Service) on compliance requirements for specialized exports.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Global Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in international trade transactions, with knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedules, Commerce Control List, and trade agreements.
Proficiency in tariff and export control classifications, with experience in FTA qualification analysis.
Strong understanding of export and import processes, including relevant documentation and control measures.
Proficient in MS Office; ERP/GTS/SAP experience is a plus

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization. We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.
