The opportunity:
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk with a strong attention to detail at the Smurfit Westrock Harrison location. This position oversees and applies accepted procedures of accounting to daily and month end processes.
How you will impact Smurfit Westrock:
- Pay vendor invoices
- Submit non-PO invoices
- Set up new vendors
- Match up board invoices to receipts
- Research problems
- Work with leadmen on PO receipts
- Work the Received not Vouchered report for PO reversals if applicable
- Manual AP accruals at month end
- In transit reporting at month end
- Back up to accounts receivable and production clerk
What you need to succeed:
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Knowledge of general accounting practices
- Detail oriented
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills - multi tasking is a must
- Strong computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access)
- JDE and AS400 experience a plus
- Flexibility
