Simpson College, a private, nationally recognized regional college grounded in the liberal arts tradition and affiliated with the United Methodist Church , invites nominations and applications for the position o f a tenure-track appointment in Sociology at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 202 5 .

Our department supports undergraduate majors in Criminal Justice, Sociology and Human Services . We also support a graduate program in Criminal Justice with an undergraduate and graduate certificate in Trauma and Resilience.

Salary, Rank, and Tenure: Thepositionis anine-month, tenure track appointment with the possibility of summer teaching.The primary responsibilities of the position include a teaching load of 3/3 in areas ofsocial welfare, equity and change, grant writing, social justice theory, and inequality and justice.The salary and rank arecommensuratewith qualifications and experience.

Additionally, successful applicants need to have interdisciplinary interest , a willingness to teach courses in statistics and research methods, and experience and/or expressed interest in working at a primarily residential, liberal arts institution.
