Security Safety Manager - Military Veterans

Amentum is seeking a Security Safety Manager in Springfield, VA.

You have excellent communication, time management, and detail-oriented skills, which you'll use overseeing the security and safety management of our warehouse. You will connect with our customers, team members and facility vendors in person and via email or Microsoft Teams to coordinate access to customer internal systems, facility access and badging for new employees. Likewise, you will identify and protect company assets and employees through the development and implementation of security protocols and perform security process evaluations and inspections. Also, under your skillful management, you will ensure a safe and compliant work environment, including modification of safety-related activities and plans in compliance with federal, state and local regulatory requirements. You'll rely on your extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Responsibilities:

• Implement and monitor security procedures in accordance with government sponsor regulations, procedures, and government directives. Creates and maintains Security Plans (SP), Information System Profile, and other security related documents. Provide consulting support and make recommendations to program management regarding appropriate, timely and necessary improvements or in implementing contractual requirements.
  
• Interfaced with appropriate government representatives on OPSEC, physical security, and security engineering and integration services. Review and investigate non-compliance security issues, and ensure all personnel comply with requirements. Investigate and eliminate unsafe or unethical security practices.
  
• Coordinates with HR and DoS to coordinate onboarding of new employees to comply with contract requirements.
  
• Ensures all inspections by the Client (DoS) are compliant with corporate, state, federal and local regulations and contract requirements.
  
• Develop and maintain applicable safety and health procedures, occupational safety programs, and practices in compliance with corporate, state, federal and local regulations and contract requirements.
  
• Participate and support integration at the site level to address site-related safety, quality, health and welfare to include environmental concerns. Compile reports and findings of surveys and audits for review and makes corrective action recommendations and tracks to closure as required. Manage warehouse safety operations.
  
• Provide guidance to managers and supervisors to assist in the interpretation and compliance of safety and health-related contract requirements.
  
• Coordinate field investigations for injury, property damage and vehicle incidents to ensure thorough investigations and appropriate root cause identification.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in business operations, security administration, or safety/environmental related field, with at least 1 year of security / safety administration experience
  
  • Or Associates degree, and at least 3 years of security / safety administration experience
    
  • Or High school diploma/GED, and at least 5 years of security / safety administration experience
    
• Professional training in safety/environmental courses, seminars, or certifications, i.e. OSHA 10 and 30 General and Construction, Hazwoper
  
• Knowledgeable of OSHA, DOT, and NFPA Regulations
  
• Hands-on experience in emergency response or investigation
  
• Accomplished written and oral presentation skills in developing safety training materials
  
• Must be able and willing to perform physically demanding tasks, such as lifting materials weighing up to 40 lbs., as well as work in a warehouse environment in adverse temperatures
  
• Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• IHMM's Certified Safety and Health Manager (CSHM) credential
