SUMMARY
Mortenson is currently looking for a Human Resources Coordinator to join our Human Resources Process, Data, and Technology team. The Human Resources Coordinator position will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources' Generalist team by providing confidential administrative, operational and project support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to employee, manager and human resources team requests and escalate issues as appropriate
- Assist with the data management, maintenance and tracking of performance management documents
- Provide support to corporate talent management initiatives
- Responsible for the administration and upkeep of Department of Transportation (DOT) files
- Provide support with employee exit meetings
- Assist with communication and notifications with managers regarding human resources' processes
- Support the generalists with the filing of immigration documentation
- Provide ad hoc reporting, analysis of information and create presentations
- Perform clerical duties such as preparing letters and documents, facilitating meetings, and providing necessary follow-up to ensure deadlines and compliance guidelines are met
- Responsible for the upkeep of state-by-state labor laws and roll-outs of updated posters and policies
- Support the generalists with the administration of Federal compliance
- Assist with special projects within the human resources department, as assigned
- Provide back-up for drug testing, MVR's, and background checks as needed
- Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- All other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Visio
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
- Knowledgeable and familiar with federal, state and local laws
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and guidance
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
- Minimum of one year experience in a HR related support role
- Exposure to one or more HR disciplines such as recruiting, benefits, training or compensation
