Demand Planning Manager - Military Veterans

The Demand Planning Manager contributes to meet financial, inventory, and shipment goals. The appropriate candidate will leverage data science concepts to enhance the demand planning process, feed ERP planning tools and materials requirements to execute forecasting strategy and identify constraints in Resource / capacity that impact the ability to execute the plan.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Forecast demand and optimize inventory plans through effective demand plans and MRP plan inputs.
  • Improve accuracy and de-bias demand forecasts.
  • Analyze item segmentation (what items are forecasted, how they are forecasted, and where the forecast is loaded).
  • Harmonize forecasting and MRP plan inputs with product life cycles (including analysis of obsolescence and supersession impacts on forecasting).
  • Optimize inventory plans (cycle stock and safety stock settings, etc.).
  • Manage MRP input settings for items, including safety stock, demand planning, and replenishment strategy settings.
  • Collaborate with business owners to understand plan inputs and inventory changes.
  • Recommend adjustments to strategic levers impacting demand, inventory, and supply plan lines of balance.
  • Partner with operations, finance, sales, and information systems teams to support and achieve business goals.
  • Facilitate an integrated team approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Analyze data and processes to derive critical insights for achieving business goals.
  • Communicate findings effectively to various stakeholders, including senior executives and individual contributors.
  • Participate in projects requiring knowledge in operations, ERP systems, supply chain, data analytics, business process automation, or planning processes.
  • Demonstrate expertise in one or more of these areas and the aptitude to learn and develop skills in others.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve inventory planning and forecasting processes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of planning activities.
  • Support team members by sharing knowledge and expertise in inventory planning and forecasting.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse audiences to balance high-level business needs with detailed technical execution.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business Administration, or equivalent experience in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in demand planning, inventory planning, supply chain management, or manufacturing operations or demonstrate an aptitude to develop expertise.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems or demonstrate an aptitude to develop expertise.
  • Oracle EBS (Inventory, WIP, BOM) & ASCP experience preferred.
  • Oracle Cloud experience preferred.

  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties.
