Location: West Barnstable, MA Category: Faculty Positions Posted On: Tue Nov 5 2024 Job Description: GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide on campus instruction to students in Psychology course(s) during the Spring 2025 semester (January 21, 2025 - May 16, 2025). The Instructor will teach General Psychology (PSY10) which introduces the major concepts and principles underlying human behavior and mental processes. Topics include personality theory, development, learning and thought, brain and nervous system, sensation and perception, motivation and emotion, stress and physical health, abnormal psychology, psychotherapy, and social psychology. The Instructor may be invited to teach additional Psychology courses. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES: Provide instruction using active learning methods. Select and develop appropriate materials for class use. Track and assess student progress. Maintain appropriate attendance and learner records. Participate in ongoing professional development. Post syllabus on Moodle Learning Management System. Job Requirements: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Master's degree in Psychology or a closely related field with appropriate areas of concentration. College-level teaching experience in Psychology or equivalent. Experience using evidence-based strategies to support student success including frequent communication and active learning. Skill in using instructional technologies effectively to support the learning process. Experience teaching with a commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles to ensure the classroom is designed for a diverse group of learners to succeed. ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching at the community college level. Skill using MOODLE or other Learning Management System (LMS) to support student learning.
