Role:
The purpose of this position is to book in all inbound receiving loads, schedule their appointments and communicate it back to the carriers. Properly arranging the different types and sizes of loads you will help maintain a consistent flow of trailers for the receivers and balance out the day.
Role Responsibilities:
- Book all inbound loads, schedule appointments, and communicate it to the carriers.
- Assign doors in the correct temperature zone and optimizes for reduced dock congestion.
- Verifies inbound trailer temperatures and settings before docking.
- Maintain a consistent flow of trailers to receive in a timely fashion for the receivers by balancing the different types of loads, environments and the number of pallets/pieces.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Match and organize PODs and BOLs to receiving documents.
- Tracking and scheduling Pick up and Returns.
- Check in/out inbound carrier drivers. Provide excellent professional customer service both internally and externally.
- Work in various warehouse environments of fluctuating temperatures including Dry, Cooler and Freezer.
- Accurate selection of will call and hot shot orders.
- Operating forklift and pallet jack offloading inbound carriers and other warehouse tasks.
- Preparing receiving documents for scanning.
- Weekly inputting lump sheet data.
- Breaking down inbound loads by hand up to 60 lbs and Shrink-wrap product on loading dock.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental objectives.
- Comply with all applicable regulations/laws and company policies, including but not limited to Food Safety Policy, SOP’s & regulations, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Antitrust policies and regulations, etc.
Qualifications/Skills/Job Requirements (About you):
- Completion of Secondary School
- Up to one year office and/or warehouse experience.
- Knowledge of IDS, SWMS and Guided Ad Hoc would be an asset.
- Able to work on stat holidays.
- Schedule is Monday-Friday 5am-1:30pm. Subject to change.
- Adheres to all Preferred Work Methods and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Certified pallet jack and forklift operator would be an asset.
- Fluent with Microsoft Office 365.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
