Summary

This position is to be a member of the COMNAVAIRPAC/COMNAVAIRLANT Material Control Assist Team (MCAT) as the Combat Systems (CS) Subject Matter Expert (SME). The mission of MCAT is to train and prepare Ships Force on how to follow US Navy instructions / guidance onboard CVNs to be better prepared for assessments and inspections.

What You Will Do

  • Training sailors on how to properly execute their Schedule of Events (SOE).
  • Assess equipment material condition.
  • Document observations of identified discrepancies.
  • Supports and participates in negotiations with customer.
  • Analyzes effects of projects upon various areas.
  • Resolves proposal preparation problems and assesses the progress against established plans and parameters.
  • Formulates and recommends corrective action measures.


What You Must Have

  • 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.
  • Must have experience training, briefing and evaluating C5I components and equipment Operators.
  • Must be able to capture information, and brief chain of command (up to CMC/DH/XO/CO level).
  • Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be able to plan, organize and execute tasking assignments assessments.
  • Must have strong computer skills to include datamining databases.
  • Knowledge of the Navy supply and 3-M systems.
  • Must be willing to travel.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET DoD security clearance, a passport and base access.


Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Experience / familiarity with one or more of the following:
    • Conducting Detect To Engage (DTE) events
    • CVN Electronics Technician (ET) with communications systems, to include:
    • Weapons systems
    • Communications (CC)
    • Anti-submarine warfare package (AS, to include NIXIE and underwater comms)
    • Navigation (NV systems)
    • Operations (OP, specifically familiarity with operating systems and weapons tie ins)
    • Information systems (IS, to include security requirements)
  • Experience supporting a TYCOM 3M Team.
  • Experience as a member of a TYCOM staff.


Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
