Job Overview



As a Working Lead Technician at Komatsu, you will be responsible for overseeing the technical operations and ensuring the efficient performance of our equipment and machinery. You will lead a team of technicians, providing guidance and expertise to maintain high standards of service and productivity.



Key Job Responsibilities





  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of technicians, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.


  • Technical Expertise: Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy machinery and equipment.


  • Maintenance Oversight: Ensure regular maintenance schedules are followed and that all equipment is in optimal working condition.


  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and enforce quality control standards to ensure all work meets Komatsu’s rigorous specifications.


  • Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of tools, parts, and supplies, ensuring availability and proper usage.


  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.


  • Customer Service: Interact with customers to provide updates, explain technical issues, and ensure satisfaction with services provided.




Qualifications/Requirements





  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a technician, with a proven track record in a leadership role.


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanics or a related field preferred.


  • Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in diagnostic tools and software, excellent problem-solving abilities.


  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environmental conditions.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization.  We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.  In the United States, we have a presence in 16 states across the US with 30 primary sites.  We have approximately 1,200 employees.   

Our group supports field operations at the customer mine sites as well as shop operations at the Distribution and Service Centers.  A large part of our workforce focuses includes technical trades.
