Social Work Faculty Position - Military Veterans

Job Summary/Basic Function

POSITION: The social work program at Concordia College, Moorhead, MN seeks applicants for a full-time, tenure-eligible position to serve as faculty in our graduate and baccalaureate social work program. A master's degree in social work and a doctoral degree in social work or related field (or significant progress) is required for a tenure-eligible position. Alternatively, a professionally prepared continuing position for candidates with a master's degree in social work will also be considered. Salary and rank are commensurate with qualifications and experience level-position to begin August 2025.

DESCRIPTION: The position involves teaching in both graduate and undergraduate programs, supporting students in field internships, advising, service to the college and community, and engaging in scholarly activities that promote professional growth and development. Our undergraduate program is primarily in person, during daytime hours. Our graduate program will be online, with some evening hours. Candidates should have the ability to teach social work courses across the social work curriculum and participate in program development. Candidates whose teaching, research, and/or other professional practice activities focus on diverse and under-represented populations, and who are interested in facilitating diversity-related learning opportunities for students are highly valued by the program and the college. Successful candidates will aspire to be part of a diverse community that affirms an abundance of identities, experiences, and perspectives to imagine, examine, and implement possibilities for individual and communal thriving inside and outside the social work program.

The Concordia College Social Work Program has recently received approval from the Higher Learning Commission to launch its Master of Social Work (MSW) program. With our eligibility document submitted to the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), we are excited to move forward and plan to welcome our first cohort in 2025. Rooted in the mission "to prepare compassionate clinical social workers committed to evidence-based and culturally responsive practice to empower individual and community well-being in pursuit of a more just world," this program represents a vital addition to our commitment to social justice and community impact. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and launching this transformative program, helping to build a strong foundation for its future success.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

1. MSW from a CSWE accredited program
2. Two years post- MSW professional social work experience.

3. Eligible for social work licensure in Minnesota.

4. Ability to effectively teach generalist and clinical practice across both programs.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:

1. DSW or doctoral degree in related field (or in progress).

2. Five years post-MSW professional social work experience.

3. Clinical Social Work License with clinical practice experience and effectiveness.

4. College-level teaching experience.
