THE OPPORTUNITY
The Manager, IT Quality Engineering (Automation) will incorporate experience and skills to partner in the development and implementation of automated testing strategies and solutions and incorporate them into the development cycle within the Agile teams. This position collaborates with one or more teams and organizations to deliver excellence for all work items within Quality Engineering across all of Chipotle IT.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
In addition to following and supporting Chipotle's policies and procedures, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Directly contribute to Chipotle's success across our most visible customer-facing solutions both online and in-restaurant.
- Cultivate and disseminate knowledge of quality and testing best practices. Guide and mentor direct reports and the organization on best practices and principles as it relates to automated testing strategies and solutions.
- Partner with other QE leaders in the development of the automated test engineering strategy, methodology, discipline, and frameworks to ensure and continuously improve quality, performance, and reliability of assigned products.
- Partner with other QE leaders in driving scalable design patterns and implementations that can be re-used throughout the organization.
- Have strong working knowledge of OOAD, design principles such as SOLID and Design patterns.
- Participate in evaluations and gap/overlap analysis of tools and current solutions/implementations.
- Create and enhance report dashboards for work being performed by the Quality Engineering team.
- Thinking 'outside of the box' to understand the various scenarios and configurations that customers use to ensure customer quality is maintained.
- Develop future leaders on the Quality Engineering team, expand their skills, and embrace servant leadership by removing roadblocks, giving team members autonomy and ownership.
- Work with other leaders in software development, product management, cloud/infrastructure, application support, and data, insights, & analytics teams to help define solution and application performance requirements.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE
- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university preferred.
- 5+ years of working experience in a senior SDET (or similar) role.
- 1-3 years of relevant management experience.
- Proven track record of implementing automated testing strategies and solutions of highly complex and distributed systems.
- Strong desire to build and lead teams while creating a culture of problem solving and collaboration through large-scale engineering.
- Proficiency with cloud technologies (either AWS or Azure).
- Experience with observability solutions and platforms including, but not limited to, Splunk, DataDog, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Experience with languages such as JavaScript and/or TypeScript , C#, SQL, Powershell.
- Experience with modern test automation solutions including, but not limited to, Playwright, Cypress, wdio, Postman.
- Experience with test automation SaaS providers including, but not limited to, Saucelabs, Browserstack.
- Experience with Azure or AWS DevOps, Agile process improvement, CI/CD pipeline management and automation, NPM , or other package managers.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with all business units.
PAY TRANSPARENCY
A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range for this position is $112,000.00-$155,500.00. You are also eligible for annual cash bonuses and equity awards based upon performance and other factors. Actual compensation offered may vary depending on skill level, experience, and/or education.
