Job Description: The purpose of this position is to provide support, organize, and coordinate a variety of campus functions and special events. This is accomplished by finding and scheduling locations for events and meetings; receiving reservation requests and submitting work orders; creating schedules; producing furniture placement diagrams; coordinating external client's arrival to campus and provide on-site event and meeting coverage; distributing correspondence; and coordinating with contractors and various departments to achieve seamless events and meetings. Other duties include updating templates; keeping room/building attributes records up-to-date; surveying event properties; generating and distributing reports for other departments; establishing work schedules for set-up contractors; and processing public safety, ITS , facilities, and tech requests. In addition to regular office hours, this position will flex their schedule in order to assist with evening and weekend activities. This position will require work performed regularly on campus. Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement. Required Education: High School Diploma/ GED Required Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience working in an office setting and 1 year of experience assisting with event coordination. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and close attention to detail Excellent time management skills with the proven ability to meet tight deadlines and adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines Ability to coordinate activities of several events and projects simultaneously Understanding the importance of excellent customer service & communication Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and SharePoint
