Department C2 HUB - CE Position Summary Within the Classroom to Career Hub (C2Hub), the Career Engagement Team supports and guides student career development and career readiness. The Career Counseling Specialist provides direct career support to students, develops innovative strategies and uses technology to ensure career support is available for all MSU Denver students. This position works to ensure career support is available to all MSU Denver students and our programs are aligned to scalability and our goal of 100% of MSU Denver students participating in career engagement activities. Services include individual career advising, career assessment interpretations, class presentations, drop-in assistance, career workshops and career technology platforms. The Career Counseling Specialist supervises undergraduate and graduate student employees and reports to the Director of Career Engagement in the Classroom to Career Hub. IND208 Duties/Responsibilities 40% - Career Counseling & Advising Provide career advising to students through individual appointments and drop-in career advising (virtual and in-person) Develop, coordinate and deliver career workshops in all areas of career development. Topics may include resume writing, cover letters, job search, interview tips, and networking skills. Ensure career support meets intended goals and objectives in alignment with MSU Denvers strategic plan and career support priorities Coordinate use of career assessments, tools and resources. Administer and interpret career assessments such as Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory, StrengthFinder and TruMotivate Collaborate with key stakeholders within the C2 Hub, Student Affairs, and across campus to ensure all MSU Denver students are connected to career support resources Ensure programs, activities, and workshops are accessible in a variety of modalities Develop and implement outreach strategies to scale student engagement 25% - Career Technology & Platform Management Manage implementation of C2 Hub career support platforms (such as Quinncia, VMock, Vault, etc.) to ensure ease of use for students. In coordination with cross-campus staff and faculty, implement strategies efforts to scale students use of platforms to support 100% career engagement. 20% - Supervision & Team Management Hire, train and supervise a team of 2-4 undergraduate peer career advisors and graduate interns/practicum students Provide appropriate supervision and guidance to graduate students that align with program requirements of their academic programs Promote and facilitate the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion imperatives in staffing, training and team management 10% - Fiscal Management, Assessment and Administrative Manages budget for C2 Hub Career Counseling & Advising Develops assessment and evaluation plan for career counseling/advising program that includes strategies to track, assess, analyze, and report impact of career support services to broader university community Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Shared Drives 5% - Professional Development & Other Duties as Assigned Remains current in relation to trends and developments within higher education, equity, inclusion and justice, career development and career readiness. Represents the interests of the C2 Hub on campus wide committees and events. Supports general departmental needs Required Qualifications Bachelors degree One year experience in a career/employment service, human resources/personnel department or a job service setting Career advising experience that includes resume review, job search assistance and general career exploration Familiarity with career technology such as VMock, Quinncia, Vault, etc Experience facilitating dialogue and/or designing programs or services focused on diversity, equity and justice Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited college or university in counseling, social work, student affairs, human resources/personnel administration, public administration, business administration, education, psychology, sociology, or closely related field. Budget management Experience supervising student employees and/or graduate interns. Demonstrated experience working with populations representing diverse identities (including, but not limited to LGBTQ, persons with disabilities, veteran/military, gender, race/ethnicity, religion, etc.) Knowledge of industry and labor market trends that impact college graduate employment Work Hours Full-time, 40 hours per week, Exempt Monday " Friday, 8:00am " 5:00pm Some weekends and evenings may be required. Hybrid schedule (on-campus and remote) available for this position - Two remote days per week permitted. Salary for Announcement The minimum of the pay range for this position is $45,300. We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $47,300 - $60,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Additionally, Student Affairs has committed to tying our salaries to an understanding of a living wage. To that end, we will not pay less than $47,300. The above salary range represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
