Position Summary/Description:
We are seeking an energetic and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to conduct experiments involving in vivo electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, neuroimmune signaling pathway analysis, reward-learning tasks, binge-like alcohol exposure on adolescent development and alterations in brain and behavior.
Education and Experience:
Preferred qualifications include:
* Demonstrated proficiency in in vivo neural measurements (e.g., microdialysis) and neuroimmune signaling analysis through peer-reviewed publications.
* Prior experience working with the intersection between neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration and neuroimmune activation as well as behavior.
* Experience with a variety of rat preclinical models for conditions such as aging, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, systemic inflammation (e.g. obesity, diabetes) and traumatic brain injury (e.g. Gulf War Illness or PTSD ).
* Experience with a spectrum of behavioral models such as open field test, fear conditioning, feeding latency, elevated plus maze, sucrose preference test (anhedonia), and the forced swim test.
