Position Summary:
The Clinical and Translational Research Unit ( CTRU ) Data Analyst is responsible for managing research data efforts and interfacing with OHIO in data-related endeavors, both internal and external to the university. The CTRU Data Analyst will work closely with research compliance, information technology, and healthcare partners to coordinate and analyze electronic health record ( EHR ) data by conducting risk assessments on applications, systems, and vendors in the data environment using various software. This position will support the design, development, and delivery of data capture tools and facilitate an honest broker model in collecting and de-identifying information/samples for research. This position ensures the security and integrity of research data by implementing rigorous protection measures and conducting regular assessments to maintain compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
1 . Manage and Analyze Research Data: Collaborate with healthcare partners to independently manage, analyze, and ensure the quality, integrity, and confidentiality of electronic health records (EHRs) for clinical studies. Perform data analysis and develop data-driven insights to support decision-making processes across various research initiatives.
2. Implement Data Security Measures: Lead the implementation and oversight of comprehensive security controls to protect sensitive research data and infrastructure. Conduct independent risk assessments on applications, systems, and vendors, ensuring ongoing data security and compliance with regulatory standards.
3. Maintain Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with data security protocols by overseeing the implementation of appropriate measures. Independently support the honest broker model for data collection and de-identification, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and maintaining the confidentiality of research data.
4. Develop and Maintain Data Tools: Independently design, develop, and maintain advanced data capture tools such as REDCap to facilitate data collection and research processes. Provide expert-level support to research teams in the development of data management systems and tools to optimize data integrity and usability.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of related professional experience
- 1 year of supervisory experience
*Equivalent combination of experience/education may be substituted
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Data Management, Health Informatics, or related field
- Master's degree

Advertised Salary:
The approved hiring range for this position is $51,281 to $67,947 Offers outside of this range of subject to additional approvals.
