SALAD BAR/CLERK - Military Veterans
at Kroger
Prepare and display produce items for sale in an efficient, sanitary manner and in accordance with company standards & policies. Perform customer service functions and follow all company policies and procedures.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and display salad bar items safely in accordance with company standards, recipes, & policies.
- Check product quality; make sure it is always fresh, rotated and stirred.
- Sort and prepare all salad bar products in accordance with Company policies with regard to quality and temperature.
- Keep carts, tools, and supplies in their designated areas and well organized.
- Keep sales area, backrooms and coolers clean and well organized.
- Able to communicate with customers and associates.
- Provide good customer and associate relations.
- Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Dept. policies and procedures.
- Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
- Follow all current rules and duties of the Produce, Company, and State and Federal laws, as made known.
- Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
- Adhere to company policies & procedures, particularly in the areas of dress code, grooming, food safety, sanitation, and maintenance of a work environment free of unlawful harassment or discrimination.
- Maintain equipment and facilities properly and safely in accordance with company policies and procedures. Perform any and all duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Must be able to read and prepare shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, bulletins, etc.
- Must work with various cleaning solutions, safely use sharp tools and operate food-processing equipment.
- Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment and willingness to help all members of the department.
- Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Produce work experience or similar experience in food preparation.
- Past work record reflects dependability and integrity.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling, etc.
