Corporate Food Safety Data Analyst Summer 2025 Intern - Military Veterans

Position Summary:

Summer internship opportunity for college students in their sophomore or junior year of study. The summer internship position is designed to prepare students for entry level, full-time positions upon successful completion of the summer internship program. Interns will build technical and leadership competencies in the selected area of expertise while gaining a broad knowledge base of all core business functions critical to food safety and quality of Kroger processes and products. Relocation is a requirement of the internship program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities:

  • Apply theoretical concepts that have been learned in the classroom to hands-on work assignments
  • Exhibit analytical abilities to compile, structure, examine, and present substantial data sets with precision and thoroughness
  • Capable of critically evaluating data to derive meaningful, actional insights
  • Support Corporate Food Technology department in the development of meaningful data and metrics reporting methods to improve visibility to performance and KPI trending
  • Assist with the maintenance and improvement of data analysis and reporting functions
  • Gather and analyze food safety, quality, and product development data to provide qualitative and quantitative evaluation based on data findings
  • Data exploration and analysis of data to explore, identifying patterns, relationships, and trends to support business decisions
  • Create visual representation of data findings through charts, graphs, and dashboards to make the data understandable
  • Reporting of data to communicate insights and findings from analysis to stakeholders, which can influence policy, decision-making, and enhancements of processes
  • Contribute and participate in practical, challenging and meaningful assignments
  • Complete cumulative project and present to the executive team and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum
    Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a comparable discipline is preferred, must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in groups or independently
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to present information to various levels of the organization
  • Proficient in the use Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to analyze and interpret information and apply to business needs
  • Commitment to providing customer service
