Regional Assistant Director of Admissions Location: Off-Campus Title: Regional Assistant Director of Admissions Position Type: Staff Full-Time Days Per Week: Monday;#Tuesday;#Wednesday;#Thursday;#Friday Hours Per Week: VP Area: Admissions and Financial Aid Department: Admissions Position Summary The regional assistant director of admissions is responsible for all aspects of undergraduate recruitment for students from Washington and Oregon. In addition, this role will also provide territory management for Alaska, Idaho and Montana, and help support Northern California. The regional assistant director gives university information to prospective students and families through various communication methods. The regional assistant director is also responsible for territory development, along with building and maintaining strong relationships with high schools, counselors, and being active in relevant regional associations. The position is an 11-month regional position, and the ideal candidate will reside within the Seattle- Tacoma-Bellevue area. Minimum Required Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree required. Two years' experience in regional admissions, recruitment and/or marketing required; three to five years preferred. Knowledge of the assigned territory is ideal. Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal and public speaking experience. Effective time management, organizational, and strong analytical skills to monitor territory development. Be able and willing to travel extensively to cover assigned territory and to visit campus. Demonstrated ability to work both independently, particularly in a virtual/remote setting, and as part of a team. Experience with event planning and service to students/parents. Willing and able to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. Preferred Education and Experience Required Other Training, Certifications, or Licensing Interested applicants must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the University's carrier. Following a conditional employment offer, Elon conducts motor vehicle record checks on all job applicants required to drive a university vehicle as an essential function of their job. Thereafter, a random motor vehicle record check will be conducted annually. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a motor vehicle record check. Job Duties Travel: Conducts information sessions for high schools, community based organizations and independent counselors. Attends college fairs and case study programming. Meets with students and families individually as a form of outreach and upon request. Executes Elon-sponsored territory events. Supports on campus events as needed. Participates in relevant ACAC organizations and regional affiliate groups. Exercises fiscal responsibility in using budget resources related to travel expenses. Communication & Outreach: Responds to written, phone, email, and in-person inquires. Supports yield initiatives by building and maintaining relationships with students, families, and high school counselors through targeted outreach including phone calls, emails, letter campaigns, events, etc.. In-person & Virtual Events: Plans and evaluates prospect and inquiry database to inform travel schedule to support territory goals. Conducts virtual information sessions for main campus. Hosts virtual programming for territory as needed. Application Review & Committee Decision Making: Reads and evaluates completed first-year applications from assigned territory, plus supports other territories as needed. Participates in admissions committee meetings to finalize admitted students from all first-year applicant pools. Responds to decision inquiries made by high school counselors before and after release. Ambassador Program: Establishes and manages an on campus ambassador program to help with recruitment and retention of students from territory.
