Salary will depend upon the number of classes taught. Salary is based upon initial placement, work experience, and the number of assigned credits. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide instruction to students and help promote effective learning; Ensure that course content is consistent with department guidelines; Maintain communication with department coordinator and students; Incorporate an equity-minded approach to teaching. This includes designing curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment that are relevant to students; valuing what students already know; and empowering students to demonstrate knowledge in multiple ways as appropriate for the discipline. Ability to assess student-learning outcomes and use assessment data to modify instruction. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Master?s or PhD degree in Philosophy from an institution with regional accreditation or its international equivalent; AND At least two quarters of experience teaching Philosophy as a Lecturer, Instructor, Assistant Professor, or related position; AND Experience teaching an online college-level course in Philosophy using a learning management system. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : Community college teaching experience Prior successful work with a diverse student population
