Summary:
The IST Portfolio Management Associate gathers and analyzes all financial and business information to determine credit worthiness for commercial loans and credit products, including the identification and analysis of general business and cash flow trends, capitalization, risks (market, credit, etc.) and mitigates.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Independently prepares written summary of conclusions for review by management and/or credit committees.
- Conducts, with limited oversight, ongoing portfolio maintenance, including covenant compliance monitoring, risk rating and quarterly leveraged loan reporting.
- Completes project and data oriented requests related to analysis of the portfolio, specific industries, etc. as requested by management.
- Works independently in producing analysis on businesses, markets and industries.
- Sources, analyzes and interprets data and succinctly and accurately summarizes relevant details for underwriting and presentation purposes.
- Mentors junior colleagues.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
- 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Financial Services underwriting
- Demonstrating success structuring credits, researching, judging and presenting information verbally and in writing and credit documentation to support the credit and minimize risk
- Proficiency using Microsoft and Excel
- Strong customer service orientation
