Job Description
Title: SR Electrician
Location: Hawesville, KY
Shift: Days
Starting Pay Rate: $29.85
Sr Electrician
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the supervisor, an individual will be expected to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, assemble, install, relocate or modify complex electrical equipment.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Troubleshoot and repair, install or modify complicated relay logic systems, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers, motors, lighting systems, switches, bus ducts and high voltage power distribution systems.
2. Install hardware portion of programmable controllers. Troubleshoot hardware and program using the programming terminal.
3. Select and use applicable tools and materials to accomplish assigned tasks in an efficient and safe manner.
4. Perform assigned tasks with input from supervisor, maintenance work order, machine operator and maintenance manuals.
5. Complete all forms as required by management, including but not limited to: maintenance work orders, inspection reports, and P.M. check lists using hard copy and/or computer generated forms.
6. Must handle all materials in a manner designed to minimize environmental impact.
RELATED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Follow prescribed safety procedures so as to prevent injury to self and others and to maintain safe equipment and conditions in entire plant.
2. Have a thorough knowledge of all maintenance procedures and operating standards.
3. Know the location of all switches, valves, tools and emergency equipment in assigned area.
4. Be thoroughly familiar with fire fighting procedures including fire brigade training.
5. Must be trained in confined space safety and emergency rescue procedures.
6. Attend and satisfactorily complete training courses as prescribed by management and regulatory agencies.
7. Maintain a safe and clean working area.
8. Report all accidents, incidents, injuries and unsafe acts or conditions to the supervisor immediately.
9. Perform all other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Must be able to satisfactorily complete certification program for "Senior" Electrician.
2. Thorough knowledge of, and ability to correctly use, all hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments.
3. Ability to select all tools, parts and materials to complete assigned tasks.
4. Ability to lead and work with a small crew.
5. Ability to read and interpret complicated lighting and power distribution drawings and relay logic schematics.
6. Ability to install complicated conduit systems.
7. Ability to perform simple non-certified welding.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Could be exposed to working conditions such as inclement weather, heat, cold, noise, vibration, dust, dirt, fumes, water, oil and heights. Where conditions require, protective equipment will be issued to the employee.

High School diploma or equivalent
