Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
The Extension Coordinator Specialist is responsible for implementing key aspects of WSU Extension's role in a 2-state, multi-university USDA NIFA funded project related to building-integrated agriculture (BIA) including developing and delivering specialized BIA training programs to Extension professionals and urban policy development professionals. Duties include leadership of WSU's role in planning, conducting and reporting on a current-state BIA assessment; developing content for an invitational summit for professionals in urban planning, economic development, sustainability, architecture, construction and Extension practitioners in horticulture, community development and urban food systems; and developing BIA outreach and educational materials. This position collaborates with project personnel from partner universities, extension personnel, and other professionals across a variety of project related disciplines to ensure the program and activities meet guidelines/expectations/objectives/policies& procedures of WSU Extension and funder/project objectives under the direction of the WSU Extension faculty.

Monthly Salary:
$2,434.70 - $3,043.37 (prorated at 50% FTE) | Zone 3, Grade 5
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110 , the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Temporary End Date:
This is a temporary position expected to end one (1) year from date of hire. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Funding has been renewed successfully for several years and we expect funding to continue to be renewed.
