Overview
This is a year-round position located in Everett, Washington reporting to the West Coast Operations Manager.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for fulfilling the contractual requirements in the DDG Homeport supporting DDG 51 Class Ships, providing on-site liaison support between BIW Planning Yard, NAVSEA PMS421 / 451 and assigned ships. Keeping a pulse on DDG 51 class availabilities from advance planning through execution.
- Provide direct and continuous liaison support between all Navy activities (Ships company, North West Regional Maintenance Center, Program Manager Representatives, Supervisor of Shipbuilding, and Major Ship Repair Yards) and the Planning Yard in Maine on all matters related to DDG 51 Class Ships.
- Function as an integral member of the Program Managers Representative (PMR) team, in support of the Navy's Fleet Modernization Plan, supporting in the resolution on all platform issues.
- Provide visitor coordination on all Everett home port Planning Yard activities. These efforts include managing support services request, ship coordination, ship check team logistics support and facility access.
- Provide Planning Yard design and material status reports, deliverables and various homeport functions in support off the DDG 51 contract.
- Provide remote support to other BIW programs and functional areas as required.
- Support hands-on material turnovers at the various ship yard facilities, requiring travel to and from various homeport locations (no more than 20% travel)
Responsibilities
- Minimum of an Associate's degree in a technical or business discipline and/or equivalent work experience, or a BIW Apprentice graduate; however, an undergraduate degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a similar discipline is preferred.
Qualifications
- A solid Planning Yard background and understanding preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of collective experience in Marine Engineering or Design, USN, or Command Fleet Lifecycle Support in the areas of maintenance and repair required.
- In-depth knowledge of DDG 51 Class ships, along with experienced gained in a Navy waterfront maintenance environment preferred.
- Strong computer, oral, written, analytical and interpersonal skills, coupled with an ability to work independently and/or as a member of a team.
- Must be able to effectively manage priorities and meet schedule demands.
- Ability to lift/carry 45lbs.
- Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
- This position requires you to be able to obtain a government security clearance. You must be a US Citizen for consideration and you must be able to obtain an interim security clearance within the first 45 days of hire.
