What You Will Do Innovative Customer Experience (FS) division is seeking an energetic and customer-focused Windows and Mac OS X System Administrator for the ICE Field Services (ICE-FS) group. ICE-FS consists of approximately 90 professionals, technicians, and students. The successful candidate will work in ICE-FS and will be providing dedicated desktop support services to an assigned customer base. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day technical support services in a heterogeneous computing environment for ICE-FS customers.
Computing Systems Tec 3 (CST-3) ($57,800 - $89,500):
The successful candidate will perform the full spectrum of remote and field level Windows and Mac desktop administration, including but not limited to:
- Support Windows and Mac desktop systems
- Resolve issues or fulfill requests through Windows and Mac remote desktop support
- Troubleshoot issues through on-site field support
- Installing, configuring and troubleshooting desktop, or mobile systems, workstations, and network issues including, wireless and role-based access control in a heterogeneous environment
- Setup and installation of hardware and software
- Provide outstanding customer service, including working with customers to resolve issues
- Experience working well in a team environment as well as working independently
- Must have good time management, organization skills and outstanding customer service
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will perform the full spectrum of remote and field level Windows and Mac desktop administration, including but not limited to:
- Entry level knowledge of Windows and Mac desktop systems
- Ability to resolve issues or fulfill requests through Windows and Mac remote desktop support
- Entry level experience in troubleshooting issues through on-site field support
- Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot desktop, or mobile systems, workstations, and network issues including, wireless and role-based access control in a heterogeneous environmen
Education/Experience:
Position requires a high school diploma and 2-4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation. Technical Institute graduation or AA degree may be preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active DOE L or Q clearance, or equivalent, transferable clearance.
- Knowledge of or courses in network troubleshooting
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances.Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances.See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
