BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Job Description:

Power your future with Qualus in our Digital Solutions Department as a Business Development Manager selling professional consulting services and software in the T&D utility industry. You can be based anywhere in the US working from home in our virtual office setting.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, motivated and have a well-rounded utility background. The candidate will have successfully developed client relationships and sold client service solutions into various levels of management within the utility industry. The candidate should be a technical and business savvy person, with experience in utility systems and software integrations, to represent and work alongside utilities across the nation. This position reports directly to our Director of Systems Integrations and works closely with key management leadership at Qualus. Work is completed independently and with a team to build a sales pipeline of new and existing clients. In addition, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Building and expanding client base spanning the US.
  • Account management - Maintain and expand relationships with clients by having a presence throughout the delivery process.
  • Engage with customers, developing core business relationships and influencing key business decisions by evaluating and analyzing their business, make recommendations for business processes, identify additional sales opportunities and improve overall customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with new clients and existing clients at multiple levels to gain an understanding of clients' objectives driving their business.
  • Leading proposal preparations in response to both sole source opportunities as well as responses to RFPs and RFIs.
  • Evaluate and analyze business and sales operations (including forecasting).
  • Demonstrate how clients can utilize software integration solutions to create more efficiency.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients to drive additional sales of software and services integration solutions.
  • Maintain relationships with clients to improve overall customer satisfaction.
  • Develop strategic plans with existing clients to identify opportunities with our professional consulting services and software solutions and ensure plans are aligned with sales and services.
  • Identify sales synergies between Qualus business groups for account expansion.
  • Support the development of proactive sales campaigns for business growth.
  • Act as engagement manager for utility accounts sold.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:

  • 7-10 years of overall experience with a minimum of 4 recent years of business development experience in the utility industry.
  • Experience with utility industry system operations including technologies such as ADMS, Distribution Automation, AMI, OMS, EMS, DERMS and Mobile.
  • Experience with professional or solution-based selling.
  • Experience developing sales plans and successfully executing them,
  • Experience managing client relationships at various levels within the utility industry,
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Project management and organizational skills.
  • US citizen or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Travel required
