Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy's Power Generation Division is seeking an experienced inventory demand planning analyst to provide data-based inventory planning and purchasing support to our renewable fleet. This position will report directly to the renewable inventory services supervisor. This individual will provide quality planning and execution for inventory purchasing, managing inventory levels, and optimizing parts planning processes for our wind, solar, and storage fleets. Additionally, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with operational and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of parts and materials, driving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Some of the duties in the position include:

• Understanding of inventory system planning, supply chain, or materials management
• Analytical skills and ability to work with large datasets to derive insights and make data-driven decisions
• Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization
• Experience in managing projects and driving continuous improvement initiatives
• Experience in presentation skills
• Day-to-day include:
o Develop and maintain demand forecasts for major, operating and maintenance parts and materials across wind, solar, and storage
o Set planning parameters including min/max levels, safety stock, and reorder points based on forecasted demand and lead times
o Work closely with operational teams to understand demand patterns, inventory requirements, and operational constraints
o Utilize SAP with APO add-on to manage and optimize inventory levels and replenishment processes
o Monitor inventory levels and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings
o Lead or participate in strategic projects aimed at enhancing the parts planning and inventory management processes
o Collaborate with procurement, supply chain, logistics, and engineering teams to ensure alignment of inventory strategies with business goals and operational needs
o Manage repaired parts process and metrics
o Support financial decision making for the fleet
o Other duties as deemed applicable

Preferred Requirements:
• Inventory planning/demand planning experience - 2+ years
• Understanding or experience in demand planning, inventory management, or supply chain management
• Understanding of SAP Advanced Planning Optimization, or other related ERP system(s)
• Relative experience in another utility or similar field
• Six Sigma Certified - Green Belt
• Bachelor's Degree - Supply Chain Management, Finance, Data Analysis or other related field

Job Overview

This job assists in the execution of the Corporate and NextEra Power Generation business processes. With limited guidance, employees in this role are responsible for O & M and capital budget preparation and reporting, cash flow management, and financial analysis and reporting. Individuals plan, schedule, communicate, and coordinate the annual budgeting process, the monthly re-forecasts, and month-end close for the site, and ensure that all transactions are in compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley. Employees in this position also focus on the continuous improvement of spending, risks and opportunities, and costing methods in accordance with corporate policy and business objectives.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs all cost accounting activities including variance analysis, standard cost development, activity-based costing, and inventory control
  • Provides financial leadership by supporting Operations leadership in decision-making and strategy development
  • Supports new lines of business and finds ways to reduce overhead costs per job
  • Provides reporting and analysis for all operations activity including productivity, capital and overhead spending, forecasting, budgeting, absorption, sales, and inventory and operations planning
  • Prepares and distributes financial reports and indicators and explains financial results to non-financial audiences
  • Communicates and explains operational performance through P & L
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues from all departments
  • Leads and executes process improvement projects using Six Sigma principles
  • Manages internal controls processes and identifies and mitigates control weaknesses
  • Extracts, organizes, analyzes, and reports data in a manner that is useful and relevant for making business decisions
  • Develops broad technical and communication skills through self-study and internal and external training opportunities
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
