The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $134,968.80 - $168,711

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsibilities

The IT Principal IT Application - SAP is responsible for lead and oversee all the applications that support the Business processes of the different Business Areas like distribution, transmission, construction, inspection, maintenance and asset management under Electric and Gas companies.

Will coordinate with business areas Leadership team and the IT Leadership team in gathering, analyzing, characterizing, balancing and prioritizing Project requests coming from Business Areas under its responsibility, as well as day to day application maintenance requests.

Focuses on understanding customer needs and meeting SLA's, assessing initial project requirements and providing on-going IT guidance.

Responsible to define and deliver the IT Applications strategy with Business Areas Strategy, Objectives and Priorities. Through a team approach, links the business area needs with value-added services and IT technology strategy.

Responsible to manage the Application Map under its responsibility looking for Efficiency, Integration/Consolidation and Evolution/Digital Transformation.

Effectively manages development team under its responsibility on a day-to-day basis and support requirement, projects and roadmaps ensuring that resources are provided to meet project needs and maintaining relationship between the business area and IT.

MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Scope of work - range of responsibilities):

Understands business processes for Electric and Gas Companies and manages business relationships. Conduct governance meetings with business lead and review Roadmap/Portfolio, Maintenance Service Requests and SLAs adherence. Technical subject matter expert in SAP ERP areas. Has knowledge of related products and technologies and understand systems integration. Understands the value and impact of SAP technology as it applies to business processes. Provide technical leadership to projects, teams, and business initiatives as required. Accountable to work with project teams (Local and Global counterparts) and management to resolve technical issues. Maintains knowledge of emerging technological trends and utilizes this knowledge to educate both IT and the business community to better utilize SAP solutions that support and drive business decisions. Identify and evaluate new technologies/services and establish/recommended strategic direction. Find solutions to complex technology issues, providing direction as required. Stay current on technologies within assigned business area. Lead, plan, coordinate and provide activities associated with SAP technology from inception to competition. Able to adjust priorities in a dynamic fashion to account for changes in business needs. Supervisory responsibility for ensuring initiatives is carried out according to standards, recommends policies and procedures. Mentor staff on technical subjects and business-related information. Responsible for SAP deployments supporting the Operations Organization, including ECC for NY, ME, CT and MA companies and coordinating Global SAP changes. Work collaboratively with the business area and IT management team and staff in the development and maintenance of business applications/solutions. Responsible to manage the Application Map under its responsibility looking for Efficiency, Integration/Consolidation and Evolution/Digital Transformation. Actively participates in IT strategic planning and other IT leadership processes as required. Manage implementation of medium/large scale SAP solutions/projects Oversee external vendors/resources

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required:

  • Bachelor's degree required in IT, Business, or a related Field.
  • 10 years or more of related field or IT equivalent work experience is required.
  • SAP certification is highly desirable.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Project Management is a plus.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities, challenging and rigid deadlines and technologies.
  • Able to work with management team counterparts to meet priorities and resolve issues.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level.
  • The ability to proactively identify innovative solutions to challenging problems and explain complex concepts and risk both simply and accurately to non-technical users.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Experience/Training:
  • Experience must include 8 years or more working in designing, implementing and supporting SAP Solutions or managing Electric and Gas business demand.
  • Demonstrate mastery in SAP Asset Management (PM Module), SAP structures, configuration, standards, object dependencies and tables.
  • Experience of the SAP modules: SAP FI- CO, SAP WMS, SAP HR or SAP Supply Chain desired.
  • Experience with S4Hana migration/transformation is desired
  • Experience with full project lifecycles of SAP ERP systems is required.
  • Application functional experience is required
  • Strong service delivery experience within IT.
