Electrical Test Technician - Military Veterans

The Electrical Test Technician ensures that all boards are fully operational and meet performance standards before de-paneling. This involves rigorous testing of each board to confirm proper function. Additionally, the role encompasses loading materials into production machines and troubleshooting and repairing identified products. By performing these tasks, the role ensures that only high-quality, functional boards are produced and delivered, contributing to overall production efficiency and product excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Testing:

  • Prepare the workbench for testing.
  • Remove and inspect PCBA from the tray and place in the testing box.
  • Test components on PCBA in the testing box to verify defect and location on PCBAs.
  • Separate defective PCBAs from repair/rework and ‘scrap’.
  • Estimate required repair work to determine if PCBA should be scrapped.
  • Follow procedure to account for ‘scrap’ and non-conformances within MRP.
  • Work closely with Quality to monitor trends.

Repair/Rework:

  • Hand solder SMT part to repair PCBA.
  • Repair/Rework PCBA and inspect for working condition.
  • Maintain stock at the workbench so that needed components are readily available.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's Degree or Electrical Engineering Technician Certification or equivalent.
  • AND 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in handling SMT components, PCBAs, and tools for repair/rework
  • Experience with various hand soldering techniques is a plus.
  • 1 – 2 years of experience with Surface Mount Technology equipment is preferred.
  • Must possess good mechanical and basic computer skills.
  • Reading schematics and circuit diagrams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and must possess good electrical skills.
  • Excellent manual dexterity to assemble products.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination and visual accuracy.
  • Willing to travel to Europe.`
