Primary ResponsibilitiesThe Transportation Analyst will report directly to the Inbound Transportation Manager. The purpose of this position is to support Inbound Transportation projects and savings initiatives, providing data and detailed analytics of key performance elements. In order to accomplish it, the incumbent would have to create, maintain, and review reporting metrics to identify opportunities for reducing freight cost and/or improving service throughout all facets of inbound transportation. Performs queries, analyzes data, and maps detailed processes to draw clear and concise conclusions and identifies improvement opportunities.
Essential Functions- Serve as the main liaison between our freight payment provider and KeHE’s internal IB Trans audit team.
- Identify inefficiencies in the freight payment cycle and implement robust solutions to speed payment cycle and reduce manual audit intervention.
- Conduct detailed freight studies and provide detailed analysis / recommendations using a variety of data and system sources including NTS, Cognos, JDA TMS, Fortigo, US Bank Syncada, CzarLite, industry based publications and in house standalone analytical tools to support operational and freight savings goals.
- Develop new process and document SOP's to ensure the accuracy and consistency of a variety of Inbound Transportation functions.
- Interact directly and negotiate with exisiting carriers and evaluate potential new carriers.
- Pro-actively work with Supply Chain, Transportation and Operations to convert new vendors to KeHE's managed transportation program and provide support for exisiting managed vendors.
- Provide fact based analysis and recommendations based on trends and gaps in our current vendor’s network.
- Create, Maintain, and/or modify department dashboards and analytical tools.
- Submit period-close financial reports to accounting team and audit financial reports and forecasts to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
- Other projects as needed.
Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude- A four-year college degree in Business or related field is required.
- US Bank-Syncada audit/payment processes knowledge/experience is a plus.
- Basic understanding of transportation, warehousing, supply-chain execution software and third-party logistics is a plus.
- Strong Excel, MS Access, Cognos or other data manipulation software knowledge. MS Power BI experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical and thinking skills and desire to learn new skills.
- Self-Starter with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from start to finish.
- Possess a sense of urgency and attention to accuracy and detail.
- Talent communicating effectively both orally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
- Capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team.
