Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking Machining Tech I, Assembly in our Carson location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • After set up by others, takes specific instructions and operates various standard and specialized machines
  • Perform such typical operations as loading parts or material into bins, hoppers and feeds; removing finished parts; operating switches, pedals and levers.
  • Observes operation for malfunction or improper processing of parts and corrects/reports.
  • Responsible for submitting "First Article"
  • Uses standard gauges to check parts according to specification.
  • Perform related tasks in departments to which assigned such as; assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, counting, etching, stamping and recording of parts processed.
  • Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs.
  • Must read blueprints and have knowledge to use micrometers, calipers, comparators, thread gauges, depth micrometers and dial indicators as needed and read blueprints.
  • Train other operators as required
  • Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis.
  • Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required. Input overall summary and bullets


Benefits/Salary:

The position includes competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), excellent 401k matching program, paid holidays and vacation. The salary range for this position is $19.00 to $22.80

QUALIFICATIONS

Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 30 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time throughout the duration of an 8- or 12-hour shift


Working Environment:
  • Will work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and filter aid that may require respiratory protection. Facial hair must be removed if required to wear respirator
  • Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends
  • Must be able to work overtime as required (only for non-exempt positions)
