Job Summary and Qualifications
Responsible for ensuring that the provision of maternity care services meets all state and federal requirements; coordinates collaborative and interdisciplinary strategies and processes that support the ongoing delivery of quality care and ongoing compliance with regulatory standards.
What you will do in this role:
· Accountable and responsible for monitoring the provision of maternal patient care services from admission, stabilization, operative intervention(s) if applicable, through discharge, inclusive of the Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement Program (QAPI).
· Collaborates with the Maternity Medical Director (MMD) and other clinical leaders across the service line in areas to include developing and or revising policies, procedures and guidelines, assuring staff competency, education, and the QAPI program.
· Ensure, in collaboration with the Maternity Medical Director, that there is a functioning QAPI program specific to maternal and fetal care, that is ongoing, data driven and outcomes based.
· Frequently leads and participates in the maternal QAPI program; provides accurate and timely data to appropriate committees and identifies opportunities for improvement in conjunction with performance improvement.
· Supports the development, implementation and revision of policies, procedures and guidelines in collaboration with the Maternity Medical Director.
· Provides leadership and consultative services for performance improvement activities of the maternity care program.
· Participates in activities and models the behavior of a leader in promoting best practices, program specific initiatives and process improvement.
· Develops collaborative relationships with other MPM(s) of designated facilities within the applicable Perinatal Care Region.
· Supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization; supports the professional practice of nursing.
What qualifications you will need:
· Bachelor of Science in Nursing Required; Master of Science in Nursing or related field preferred
· Be a registered nurse with perinatal experience;
· Be a clinically active and practicing registered nurse participating in maternal care at the facility where program manager services are provided
· Current and unrestricted license as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
· Current ACLS, BLS and NRP required
· Certification in area of specialty.
