Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Risk Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT engineering technologies and principles, background in coding and automation development, and experience operating in a high-performance engineering team. As a Risk Engineer you will be responsible for designing and implementing sustainable automation of technology risk controls in a diverse technology environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with appropriate IT, Risk and Cyber teams to understand and assess current risk controls to identify opportunities for optimization and automation
- Based on analysis, and in collaboration with control and platform owners, design, build, test, and implement automation solutions for technology controls
- Align and adhere to industry best practices for code development and hygiene
- Active participation and support of control owners in periodic control testing
- Maintain currency of automation scripts, code etc. for controls throughout the lifecycle
- Lead design and development of new technology controls applying industry best practices for control design and automation
- Objectively design/develop control automation which delivers proactive/real time functionality eliminating manual validation
- Support and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Maintain industry and technology risk currency to ensure solutions are aligned with best practices
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 10 years of experience in risk management, engineering, or a technology-related role.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experiential knowledge and interaction with IT platform engineering
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages/platforms commonly used for automation such as Python and Ansible
- Experience in building and developing common automation workflows
- Experience with operating and/or implementing technology risk controls in an enterprise environment
- Working knowledge of ADO/Git
- Familiarity with Agile development practices
- Understanding of risk assessment methodologies and tools.
- Working knowledge and experience with regulatory requirements for financial services
- Working knowledge and experience with Archer or other GRC tools
- Working knowledge and experience with SPLUNK and Service Now
- Direct experience with development and automation of technology controls
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Professional certifications in technology and/or risk management are a plus.

Compensation Range:
141,000.00 - 150,000.00 USD AnnualThe compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
