Position Purpose
The Financial Aid Officer works in a professional team environment to provide superior customer service, educational financing information and counseling to students, applicants, and families. Provides technical and administrative expertise for financial aid office processes.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

2 years of experience in student services.
Minimum of 1 year of experience in financial aid administration.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a team member.
Demonstrated technical skills including report creation, the use of databases and software systems.
Outstanding time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities.
Highly organized, collegial and service-oriented.
Initiative, ability to think logically, sound judgment, organizational, and planning skills.
Experience handling confidential information and data.
Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in financial aid systems and administration.
Knowledge of federal and institutional policy regarding and regulations governing financial aid compliance.
Fluency in a second language in wide use is strongly preferred.
