Mars Hill University is a private, four-year liberal arts institution located in the mountains of
western North Carolina. Founded in 1856 by Baptist families of the region, it is the oldest
institution of higher learning in western North Carolina on its original site.

Summary:
The Head Coach oversees all aspects of the Womens Flag Football program.
Mars Hill competes at the NCAA Division II level and is a member of the South Atlantic Conference. The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to the academic success of the student-athletes in the program that leads to graduation through a positive collegiate experience. The Head Coach reports to the Director of Athletics.
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance with NCAA, SAC and Mars Hill University policies and regulations
Organize individualized and team instruction with emphasis on teaching all skills and strategies associated with the sport
Oversee day-to-day program administration
Recruit and award scholarships to quality student-athletes who are committed to the Universitys mission
Schedule travel, officials and meals for team
Provide academic support and oversight for all student-athletes
Works with the Sports Information Director regarding rosters, publicity, player awards and promotions
Oversee player development and evaluation
Responsible for fundraising and community service activities
Develop and maintain positive alumni relations
Manage the program budget
Hire and supervise staff
Inventory and order supplies and equipment
Manage travel to include booking hotels, vans, buses, etc.
Have a clean driving record and able to drive a van to transport teams to games.
Daily maintenance of Womens Flag Football facilities and equipment
Ability to lead, mentor and motivate student-athletes
Represent the institution and the department in a positive and professional manner
Responsible for any other assignments or details required by the Athletic Director
Collateral responsibilities:
Participation in fundraising activities
Acceptance of service on University committees
Membership and active participation in professional organizations
Attendance at convocations, staff meetings, graduations, etc., if at all possible
Qualifications:
Applicants should have at least a bachelors degree with a successful coaching background in Womens Flag Football. Strong communication, organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to produce and manage Womens Flag Football programs are important.
