The Industrial Hygienist develops and manages industrial hygiene programs to ensure workplace safety and compliance with health regulations, focusing on hazard prevention, employee training, and regulatory standards in environments like nuclear, construction, and chemical processing.

responsibilities:
- Implement and administer industrial hygiene programs focused on employee and public safety, as well as occupational health.
- Serve as a resource for line management to maintain proactive prevention programs for occupational accidents and illnesses.
- Perform moderately complex technical work in various industrial hygiene disciplines to ensure compliance with ES&H standards, federal, and state regulations.
- Apply advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of industrial hygiene to develop, implement, and maintain safety programs.
- Monitor and prevent workplace hazards and diseases, investigating accidents, injuries, and hazard-related complaints.
- Recommend improvements to processes, designs, procedures, and operating equipment to minimize workplace hazards.
- Develop and conduct employee training on industrial hygiene and emergency preparedness.
- Provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice to teams and management.
Skills:
- Experience in nuclear, heavy construction, chemical processing, or petroleum refining environments.
- Experience in developing and implementing Industrial Hygiene programs and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field with at least 6 years of relevant experience, or
- 12 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- ABIH Certification (CIH) is preferred.
