Responsibilities
The Data Integration team is responsible for extracting data from various sources, transforming the data as required, and loading it to various targets (ETL.) This team develops, maintains and supports the Enterprise Data Warehouse system, corresponding data marks and data interfaces between operational systems. Interns will get hands-on learning and will analyze and will provide support for the team by working with documentation to structure processes and data for accuracy, efficiency, and maintainability.
We are looking for students who are ready to take on stimulating projects and gain exposure to a variety of industrial initiatives.
- Contribute to the evaluation, research, experimentation efforts with batch and streaming data engineering technologies in a lab to keep pace with industry innovation
- Work with data engineering related groups to inform on and showcase capabilities of emerging technologies and to enable the adoption of these new technologies and associated techniques
- Contribute to the definition and refinement of processes and procedures for the data engineering practice
- Work closely with data scientists, data architects, ETL developers, other IT counterparts, and business partners to identify , capture, collect, and format data from the external sources, internal systems and the data warehouse to extract features of interest
- Code, test, deploy, monitor, document and troubleshoot data engineering processing and associated automation
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Qualifications
- Must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics with at least one semester remaining upon start of the internship.
- Must possess a minimum of a 3.0 (out of a 4-point scale) overall GPA.
- Junior or Senior classification preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required . This incumbent will be required to give presentations and communicate with business leaders.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, problem solving, and conceptual skills required .
- Must be detail oriented and able to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Must be able to work independently or in a team setting.
- Previous internships are considered a plus.

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY
GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada. In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015. In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.
GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
