Position Purpose



Serve customers by performing highly diversified duties to install, schedule, repair and maintain Engineered Products and field equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance.



Key Responsibilities





  • Travel, this is primarily a field position, but will have roles in the shop as the schedule dictates. This job may be as high as 75% travel. Possible 3 weeks a month travel. Some Reginal and National Travel.


  • Perform Engineered Products installations and services in High Voltage Electrical Substations


  • EP equipment installations, repairs and maintenance / warranties


  • Installation of EP products such as DryMax, SampleSafe, IR windows, Guardian (1, 5 and 9 gas monitors), IR in switchgear


  • Engage to learn products and their installation (Camlin, Iriss, etc)


  • Learn to eventually perform job walks with sales or solo.


  • Learn and eventually perform warranty work


  • Shop Activities



    • Set up and prepare EP equipment for installation


    • Participate in coordination of plant projects (i.e. renovations and remediation) as needed


    • Learn SDM equipment – aid in equipment maintenance


    • Maintain and improve facilities as needed



      • Facility inspections


      • Troubleshoot necessary maintenance within facility


      • Possible future contractor interaction


      • Work on transformer reconditioning










  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations


  • Assist with field service jobs as needed


  • Other duties as assigned.




Education and Experience





  • High School Diploma (Degree from a vocational school a plus)


  • Associates Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance a plus


  • 2 to 3 years experience in a field or shop as mechanic or industrial electrician




Knowledge, Skills and Abilities





  • Mechanically inclined – knowledge of basic electrical apparatus


  • Operation of field oil processing and engineered products equipment


  • Strong ability to collaborate with customers and interdepartmental communication


  • Transformer knowledge for minor repair and equipment installations


  • Use of installation software (putty, CanLab) for field upgrades, installations and troubleshooting


  • Strong electrical and OSHA Safety background - knowledge of health & safety practices and regulations.


  • Able to perform safety for electrical and mechanical inspections and compliance for the buildings and process areas of the company.


  • Understands basic wiring schematics and one-line diagrams


  • Required to have all pertaining safety accreditations including OSHA and NFPA70E.


  • Compliance to our Standard Operating Procedures


  • Communication and interpersonal skills


  • Ability to perform basic mathematical computations and is good at problem solving


  • Use of computers and scheduling, job costing, ordering and tracking of projects


  • Highly organized, able to multi-task




Work Conditions





  • This position is not eligible for our Hybrid Remote Work Plan.


  • Work for this position is conducted both outdoors and indoors, in a plant and field environment with conditions commonly present in an industrial/manufacturing type facility.


  • Frequently may be working outdoors with unpredictable weather conditions or at other vendors/customer sites consistent with an industrial/manufacturing type facility.




Physical Demands





  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch throughout the work day


  • Ability to perform work at computer workstation for extended periods


  • Ability to lift materials/objects weighing up to 70 pounds


  • Extended weekly hours may occasionally be required to address peak workloads


  • Regularly required to talk, see, and hear


  • Travel frequently within the US and occasionally internationally
