Compensation: $22.00/hr

POSITION SUMMARY:

An Operations Specialist within the Tarian Operations Center receives both emergency and non-emergency calls from clients and dispatches security personnel to the scene, acts as a liaison to connect field employees to appropriate leadership personnel, dispatches security personnel involved in secure transport operations, and act as the 24/7 point of contact for enterprise operations.

Responsibilities

In addition to the already mentioned essential duties and responsibilities, Operations Specialists may be expected to:

  • Receive and transmit telephone and radio emergency calls, as well as non-emergency calls/complaints/inquiries from the client and staff. Additionally, handle internal calls regarding employee resources and provide guidance as needed.
  • Operate two-way radios, multi-line phone and teletype systems, computers, and other complex equipment to access information and respond to requests from clinical staff, clients, and security officers in the field quickly and correctly.
  • Evaluate and prioritize calls based on urgency.
  • React quickly and correctly to evolving situations.
  • Operate computer systems including web dispatch communication system, GPS, and audio/video recording systems.
  • Apply detailed procedures and policies from both structured situations and in non-routine situations that require independent judgement, critical thinking and application of varied procedures and policies.
  • In an extreme emergency the Operations Specialist may not be able to leave their position for an extended period.
  • Sit or stand for 8-12 hours


Qualifications

Education/Experience or Minimum Requirements for Application-

  • Education: Equivalent to graduation from high school or successful completion of GED examination
  • Must successfully pass a background investigation
  • At least two (2) years of recent dispatcher/ customer service/ high volume call center experience
  • Preferred at least two (2) years of recent dispatcher experience
  • Substitution: Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business or Public Administration, Public Policy, Emergency Management, or closely related field can substitute for one (1) year of the required experience


Physical Demands & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this position, individuals are assigned to an Operations Specialist position which requires long periods of time in a seated position; working in a high-pressure environment; working night shifts; extended shifts, rotating shifts, and holidays. May lift and carry up to 10 lbs. Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.

  • Skill operating all software and hardware related to performance of duties.
  • Highly capable of organizing, coordinating, and directing resources.
  • Some knowledge of communication systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on all sensitive operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, superiors, agencies, government entities and the public.
  • Ability to deal courteously and firmly with the public, employees, clients, clinical staff.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for up to 8-12 hours a day.
  • Must be able to look at a computer screen for up to 8-12 hours a day.

Preferred Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge or experience with HIPPA regulations.
  • Skilled in operating computer assisted dispatching software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff, security officers, leadership, and c-suite level executives to provide and receive information in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Previous experience in assigning and directing assets or resources to assist during emergency or non-emergency situations.
  • Previous experience in monitoring GPS systems with personnel or vehicles
