Associate or Full Professor (Observational Radio Astronomy) The Astronomy Department at Cornell University invites applications for a faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level. We encourage applications from candidates who demonstrate outstanding research, teaching, mentorship, and leadership in the area of observational radio astrophysics with emphasis on gravitational wave studies and transient source science. The Department will prioritize candidates with a broad portfolio of interests and accomplishments in the field. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research aligned with priorities from the recent Decadal Survey on Astronomy and Astrophysics, to enhance the Department's current strengths in radio science and to build collaborations with new observational projects around the world. We expect candidates to have an established record of high-impact research and to demonstrate the potential to build an externally-funded independent research program. The successful candidate will also have a strong record and/or commitment to excellence in teaching, advising, mentorship, and leadership of diverse groups. A Ph.D. in Astronomy, Physics, Planetary Sciences or a closely related field is required, and postdoctoral experience is preferred. Actual salary offers in the College of Arts and Sciences will be based on education, experience, discipline, and relevant skills.
