Level 2 Wax Inspector, 1st Shift - Military Veterans

RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Summary
Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Wax Visual Inspector II in our Patterns Business Center at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility located at 3960 S. Marginal Rd. in Cleveland. This position is responsible for the ensuring that customer requirements are meet for the Aerospace Industry prior to shipping.
This is a 1st Shift position Monday through Friday from 6:00 am - 2:30 pm.
Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.
Job Responsibilities
- Read and understand information on work instructions.
- Inspect assemblies 100% for defects.
- Mark up assemblies to identify defects.
- Record data manually or by computer as required.
- Repair minor defects on assemblies.
- Provide feedback to wax department on assembly quality.
- Ensure safe work practices and that all EHS policies and requirements are being followed.
- Read and follow information on Product Criteria and Assembly Releases.
- Be thoroughly familiar with department activity instructions.
- Inspect completed assemblies for conformance to Product Criteria and Assembly Releases and for workmanship in compliance with department Activity Instructions.
- Mark assemblies up for rework. Defects identified will be recorded by type and communicated back to the cell leaders.
- Return the assembly for rework by wax cell operators or repair the assembly defects, based on job.
- Will be required to travel between NHVS (Mentor) and Tempcraft (Cleveland) as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by Team Lead and/or supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent of 5 years of Visual Inspection or finishing experience
- Must successfully complete all Level II classroom training and pass a proficiency test administered by the Level III in both generic inspection and wax-specific inspection
- Able to pass an annual eye exam per Jaeger
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous Wax Finishing experience
- Previous Visual Inspection experience
