Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring an Adjunct Instructor in the Human Services and Public Safety Department. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for course preparation, delivery, grading, and records management. The Instructor will work closely with the Director of Criminal Justice. 1. Teach all courses, as assigned, for the full duration of scheduled instruction. 2. Be fully prepared with an approved lesson plan for each class session. 3. Enforce academic policy and procedures at all times and comply with institutional/accrediting body rules and regulations. 4. Stay current with developments in the field of instruction and in compliance with certifying accreditation standards. 5. Assume responsibility for offsite/classroom preparation, including maintenance and cleanup, and recommend, as necessary practical supplies and equipment needed for instruction. 6. Maintain national, state, and college credentials supporting the role of the adjunct instructor, participating in required training by the accrediting body and/or the college. Ensure the college Human Resource Office receives official documentation of completion of training completion and credential renewals. Basic Law Enforcement Training Instructor Minimum Qualifications : high school diploma or GED. The applicant must hold a N.C. General Instructor certification or a Professional Lecture certification issued by the N.C. Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. OR Criminal Justice Curriculum Instructor Minimum Qualifications : The applicant must hold a bachelor's or higher in criminal justice or closely related field or master's degree with a concentration in the teaching discipline (minimum of 18 graduate semester hours). At least two years of online teaching experience is preferred.
