Job Summary
Faculty position teaching in clinical, laboratory, and/or didactic courses working with undergraduate students in a BSN nursing program. Courses are delivered predominately face-to-face. This position will include a primary teaching focus of pediatric theory, lab, and clinical. A sub-specialty is required. Public health nursing or mental health nursing is the preferred sub-specialty. Faculty may also teach similar content in the Post-Bacc BSN program.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching in classroom, lab, and clinical settings; at least 2 specialty areas with pediatrics required and a preference for psych/mental health and/or public health. Other specialty settings as qualified.
  • Teaching in the nursing skills and simulation labs.
  • Function as team leader for select clinical and/or skills courses.
  • Teaching clinical, skills, and/or didactic courses in the Post-Bacc BSN program as needed
  • Evaluation of students in classroom, clinical, and skills settings, including performance exams.
  • General faculty responsibilities include involvement in the activities of the department and university (i.e., participation in teaching teams and committees).
  • Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the department and the discipline

    Experience
  • A minimum of three years clinical experience in pediatrics is necessary; clinical experience in an additional nursing specialty is required.
  • Previous experience as a nurse educator in an academic setting or as a preceptor of students or new nursing employees would be an asset.
  • Previous experience working with diverse individuals or groups is preferred.

    Education
    A master's degree in nursing is required, doctoral degree or significant progress toward completion of a doctoral degree is preferred. A clinical focus with practice in pediatric nursing care settings is necessary. Current Minnesota RN licensure or eligibility required.
