Job Description
Minneapolis College is seeking a temporary Counselor in the Student Affairs division for Spring 2025 Term from January 9, 2025 through May 16, 2025.
Â
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Â
- Provide high quality counseling services in the areas of career development, personal adjustment, and crisis intervention as well as outreach and follow up services to a highly diverse student population. Â
- Provide developmental advising to support individual planning, personal skill development and problem resolution with individual and groups of students. Â
- Participate in or conduct new student orientations as needed.Â
- Teach courses and / or make presentations in classes as appropriate.Â
- Consult with faculty and staff about students' personal adjustment and mental health issues.Â
- Create and implement programs to facilitate student development, and support student retention and success.Â
- Participate in college committees and projects to provide student development information and perspective, including Student Support Team, Student Response Team, Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT/CARE) and other relevant teams.Â
- Represent the college in the community.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must possess or meet the minimum qualifications for the Minnesota State credential field of Â
