Test Floor Supervisor 3rd Shift - Military Veterans

As a 3rd shift Test Floor Supervisor located in Jefferson City, MO, you will oversee a team of production employees engaged in various transformer testing activities. Your role includes scheduling work to meet on-time delivery goals, optimizing resource utilization, and maintaining safe work practices. You will also address production, technical, and logistics issues, and help develop and implement operational improvements.

Shift Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 11:30pm - 7:30am

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the safe use of all equipment and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Team Management: Assign and train employees, understand and achieve Section KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and work towards goals for Safety, On-Time Delivery, Throughput Time, Productivity, and Efficiency.
  • Timekeeping: Track and enter hourly employees' time into the timekeeping system.
  • Production Planning: Complete production plans by scheduling and assigning personnel, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising schedules, reducing backlog, communicating and pushing expedites, resolving problems, and reducing rework.
  • Data Management: Provide manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions, and responding to requests.
  • Personnel Management: Abide by the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, resolve personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions.
  • Communication and Conflict Resolution: Use excellent people skills for coaching and communication to accomplish daily deliverables, provide clear direction, set priorities, escalate issues when needed, and manage conflict effectively.

Qualifications:
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years of electrical works experience; OR
    • Associate's Degree and 4+ years of electrical works experience; OR
    • High School Diploma/GED and 6+ years of electrical works experience.
  • Industrial Experience: Broad experience working in an industrial electrical environment.
  • Technical Skills: Experience testing transformers or electrical equipment.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge and experience with lean manufacturing implementation, plus Six Sigma training preferred.
  • Flexibility: Must be able to work any shift and weekends.
  • Language Skills: Bilingual in English and Spanish is desirable.
  • Work Authorization: Candidate must already have work authorization that permits them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
