Director of TRIO Programs - Military Veterans

Job Description

The Director of TRIO Programs oversees, supervises, leads and manages all aspects of NHCC's Federal TRIO Programs. The position plans, organizes, coordinates, leads, controls, develops, implements, and maintains the management of NHCC's federal TRIO programs to assure compliance with federal rules, Education Department General Administrative Regulations (EDGAR), and approved project design. The Director of TRIO Programs is responsible for the administration of the federal TRIO grant programs, which include administering, managing, and supervising all aspects of the Student Support Services/TRIO program and the Student Support Services/TRIO STEM/Health program.Â

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Education, Administration, or a relevant field.
  • 3 Years of Professional and/or student supervision experience or proven progressive leadership experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations related to TRIO programs.


Preferred QualificationÂ
  • Expertise in student retention strategies, specifically for high-risk populations such as low-income, first-generation students, and students with disabilities.
  • Experience interpreting and applying state and federal regulations and assessing their impact on educational programs.
  • In-depth knowledge of the TRIO program's history, mission, and legislative regulations at the state, regional, and national levels.
  • Working knowledge of innovative instructional methodologies and student service delivery models proven to promote student success.
  • Strong leadership, managerial, and team-building skills, with experience supervising professional staff and overseeing large federal budgets.
  • Proven ability to compile, interpret, and present data, including writing detailed reports for federal and state agencies.
  • Experience in public relations, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and community outreach, with the ability to articulate the needs of TRIO participants to various stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of existing community services and agencies that support educationally disadvantaged students.
