Overview of the Program:
As a company that is focused on connecting the military community with meaningful career opportunities, RecruitMilitary is focused on staffing its open opportunities with recently transitioned veterans as well as providing interns with connections to RecruitMilitary's network of over 16,000 veteran ready employers.. The purpose of the RecruitMilitary Strategic Sales and Recruiting Internships program, under DOD SkillBridge, is to provide servicemembers transitioning from active duty to civilian careers with training for opportunities in business-to-business sales with RecruitMilitary as well as providing an overall familiarization with the inner workings of a military to civilian recruiting company that has more than 30 successful years in the industry.
As a part of their training program, interns will also support the RecruitMilitary Candidate Success Program. This service is for transitioning soldiers and will provide support with all services offered via RM. Services include job board navigation and search tips, optimizing the candidate profile, using the one-click application feature, job application support and career fair registration. Additionally, all interns participate in a comprehensive 12-week professional development program which teaches resume writing, professional networking, interview preparation and much more. This element of the training empowers our interns with the employment skills required for long term professional success in the civilian workforce.
Training Specifics:
On the Job Training: Our training program is designed to build upon the skills gained during military service as well as helping transitioning service members to develop new skills that will empower their transition to civilian employment. The training program has three major components. 1) business to business sales training, 2) candidate success training and 3) orientation to the RecruitMilitary business model including familiarization with recruiting, client success, client strategy, account management, and marketing. Specific training topics include:
• Learn how to use leading edge digital tools and platforms to develop and manage business to business sales as well as recruiting operations.
• Learn how to communicate the RM value proposition, evaluate client needs and deliver impactful service solutions.
• Learn how to assist veteran job seekers to optimize their online profiles, leverage the job seeking tools and conduct a successful career search.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the RecruitMilitary business model and its departmental functions; focused on Sales and Recruiting Operations.
• Master the employment skills necessary for long term career success.
Professional Development: Candidate Professional Development runs parallel with Employment and Recruitment Skills training. This portion of the program includes participation in professional development seminars, close work with individually assigned mentors from within the company and practical applications to ensure all interns are armed with the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to market themselves effectively and secure meaningful employment in the modern workforce. Developmental topics include:
· Leveraging social media to effectively network in the digital environment for career success.
· Development of a coherent personal brand to effectively market the intern to potential employers.
· Use of digital and online tools for targeted job searches and networking.
· Creating resumes targeted to specific opportunities in specific fields of employment.
· Development of skills necessary to secure, prepare for and succeed at job interviews and subsequent salary negotiations.
Key Responsibilities
Qualifications Required:
· Active duty servicemember in transition eligible to participate in a DOD SkillBridge opportunity in accordance with DODI 1322.29.
· Strong work ethic, self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred:
· BA/BS or comparable military/work experience and demonstrated experience managing simultaneous projects
· Experience in recruiting, human resources or career counseling roles.
· Experience communicating complex information to multidisciplined audiences.
· Previous experience in sales, marketing or business development.
Work Environment:
This program is fully remote. Interns can participate from anywhere in the world where they have a reliable internet connection, a dedicated workspace and the ability to work 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. At their own discretion, interns may travel to, and support RecruitMilitary career fairs hosted at dozens of domestic locations year-round. Associated travel costs are reimbursable. Interns are provided with all equipment necessary (laptop, camera, headset, mouse etc.) to complete their program requirements, at no cost. Interns who receive a full time offer of employment will retain their equipment. There are no additional costs associated with the program.
Training Period: The training program is based upon a 120-day training model. Service members with less than 120 days available may be considered for participation provided they have a minimum of 90 days availability. Programs may be customized in length for high potential candidates.
Locations:
This program is fully remote. No travel is required. Interns may, of their own volition, choose to travel in support of domestic events nationally, and the home office in Chesapeake, VA as well as off-site meetings, conferences or events as they may occur. Travel costs are reimbursable.
