Job Type: Full-time Job Description: The Digital Strategist serves as a subject matter expert in reaching target audiences through Syracuse University's flagship digital properties. The Strategist is responsible for drafting, staging, and actively managing content through our digital marketing efforts. They leverage digital marketing and content curation expertise and best practices to advance marketing and organizational goals. They are responsible for creating, managing, maintaining and executing digital content strategies as a part of larger integrated marketing strategies on behalf of the University and/or individual units within the University. They collaborate with their manager, the Senior Digital Strategist, and other team members to help make decisions concerning information architecture, user experience and content on partner and flagship properties. They are responsible for making data-driven decisions, including conducting, analyzing and reporting on user testing, competitor analysis, industry research and website analytics. In addition to being highly organized, the Strategist is a creative person and has deep understanding of digital marketing best practices, particularly user experience, information architecture, search engine optimization and digital design. Qualifications: Job Specific Qualifications: Responsibilities: Assist with creating, executing and managing digital strategies as a part of larger integrated marketing strategies on behalf of the University and/or individual units within the University. Collaborates with various stakeholders on projects for paid campaigns and organic content optimization from conception to launch. Works within a content management system to update, curate and manage digital content. Write, edit, proofread and develop content for digital platforms. Ensure content is appropriate for media and audience and ensure it is oriented in a way to advance established objectives and goals. Assists in the development of responsive wireframes and mockups in collaboration with UI/UX Designer. Uses audience and data insights, user testing and analytics to inform content development, page design and positioning to create engaging and informative user experiences for audiences of the Universitys flagship digital properties. Assist with reporting on campaign and non-campaign page(s) engagement and use these findings to influence future campaign strategy. Collaborate with creative and strategy teams to ensure that the look, feel, and tone aligns with ad creative and campaign messaging. An excellent communicator with a keen understanding of user experience, they will help distill multiple ideas into an orderly framework, drive sensitive insights and create solutions that serve audience needs. Oversee regular review of digital content and work with other subject matter experts to ensure content remains timely and accurate. Ensure online content supports SEO goals, brand standards, web style guidelines, digital governance standards and legal and compliance requirements. Stay on top of digital industry trends and best practices to help serve as a thought leader among campus web professionals and communicators. Other Duties as assigned.
